SivIMed is the vision of Dr. Usha Sivakumar, an internal medicine physician whose 30+ years of experience span hospital and private-practice settings on four continents. She built SivIMed around a simple idea: patients in Frederick deserve unhurried appointments, a care team that knows them by name, and a doctor who stays with them for the long term.
Located at 141 Thomas Johnson Drive in Frederick, our office serves adults throughout Frederick County, including patients from Walkersville, Urbana, Middletown, Ballenger Creek and surrounding communities.

Driving directions: From I-70 or I-270, take US-15 North to Exit 16 (Motter Ave), continue onto Opossumtown Pike, and turn right on Thomas Johnson Drive. From the north (Thurmont), take US-15 South to the Monocacy Blvd exit, bear right, then turn left on Thomas Johnson Drive.
Do you offer same-or next-day sick visits?
We offer sick visits as soon as scheduling allows. For concierge members, Dr. Sivakumar leaves room in her schedule each day for acute care visits so you will be able to be seen.
What is the difference between an internal medicine doctor and a family doctor?
Internists specialize in adults only and focus on preventing, diagnosing and managing complex and chronic conditions. Family physicians treat all ages.

SivIMed accepts both new concierge and traditional care patients. Concierge membership is an optional upgrade for patients who want extended appointments, visits with Dr. Sivakumar, and direct communication outside of office hours.
